FIELD: molecular biology; medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to molecular biology, medicine, particularly to infectious diseases. Disclosed is a method for predicting the severity of EBV-associated infectious mononucleosis (IM), characterized by the fact that peripheral blood leukocytes in patients with EBV-associated infectious mononucleosis are characterized by mRNA expression FPGS.NM_00018078 and PCNA.NM_002592 and if the levels of their expression are higher than that of healthy donors, a moderate-to-severe condition is predicted, while a lower one shows a severe clinical course of the disease.
EFFECT: invention provides prediction of EBV-IM course that promotes timely adequate antiviral and immunomodulatory therapy.
