METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING THE SEVERITY OF EPSTEIN-BARR VIRUS-INDUCED ACUTE INFECTIOUS MONONUCLEOSIS IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01N33/68

Abstract RU 2797960 C1

FIELD: medicine; pediatrics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to diagnose the severity of acute infectious mononucleosis caused by the Epstein-Barr virus in children by biochemical analysis of blood serum. In patients with infectious mononucleosis caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, the content of fractalkine is determined. When the content of fractalkine in the blood serum ranges from 2.1 to 12.0 ng/ml, the severity of the condition is assessed as mild. When the content of fractalkine is in the range from 12.1 to 37.0 ng/ml, the severity of the condition is assessed as moderate. When the content of fractalkine is higher than 37.1 ng/ml, the severity is assessed as severe.

EFFECT: method helps to increase the reliability and expand the functionality of determining the severity of acute infectious mononucleosis caused by the Epstein-Barr virus by determining the content of fractalkine in the blood serum.
