FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and aims at searching for retinal breaks intraoperatively in episcleral filling of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Transconjunctival puncture is made in a flat portion of the ciliary body at distance of 3-4 mm from the limb at angle of 90 degrees relative to the sclera, directed towards the centre of the eyeball, with pre-shift of conjunctiva by means of trocar with port 25 G of calibre on end, which is installed for 10 hours. Thereafter, light guide is introduced through installed port into the eye cavity to view the detached section of retina and to search for breaks in it. Observation is carried out through a pupil by means of a microscope with a wide-angle system for ophthalmoscopy installed in it.
EFFECT: method enables detecting intraoperative gaps in the retina and providing surgical management of retinal detachment with adequate anatomical retina attachment in the postoperative period.
