FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing a modified diene-containing (co)polymer. Method includes steps of: a) a dissolution step, on which the initial diene-containing (co)polymer is dissolved in a hydrocarbon solvent; b) a modification step, at which the dissolved diene-containing (co)polymer from step a) is added to a modifying system containing a halogenating agent, an aliphatic alcohol and water; c) a neutralization and separation step comprising adding an aqueous solution of a neutralizing agent to the reaction mass obtained at step b) and separating the aqueous and organic layers; d) an extraction step comprising deposition or degassing of the obtained modified diene-containing (co)polymer; and e) a step for filtration and subsequent drying of the deposited modified diene-containing (co)polymer. Obtained fire retardant is characterized by high heat resistance (temperature of 5 % mass loss of at least 180 °C, measured by thermogravimetric analysis), and also enables to preserve granulometric composition and chromaticity of polystyrene granules containing the disclosed flame retardant (antipyrene) without affecting other characteristics and properties of polystyrene; reduced amount of waste water formed when producing a modified diene-containing (co)polymer.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of time for obtaining modified diene-containing (co)polymer and energy resources required for production of modified diene-containing (co)polymer.
