FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention to a modified polypeptide with reduced citrate synthase activity and to a method of producing L-amino acid-derived aspartate using said modified polypeptide. Modified polypeptide having citrate synthase activity, where 241th amino acid in the amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO: 1, which is asparagine, is replaced by another amino acid. Invention also relates to a microorganism of the genus Corynebacterium containing a modified polypeptide as per claim 1, for production of L-amino acid, method of producing L-amino acid, involving cultivation of a microorganism according to claim 6 in the medium and isolating the L-amino acid from the cultured microorganism or medium.
EFFECT: invention enables using the novel modified polypeptide, citrate synthase activity of which is lowered to a certain level, increased level of L-amino acid production without slowing down of strain growth rate.
