SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a modified microorganism for producing ornithine and to a method for producing ornithine using this microorganism. A modified microorganism Corynebacterium glutamicum is proposed, producing ornithine with reduced activity of a regulator of sugar metabolism transcription (SugR) in comparison with endogen activity of Corynebacterium glutamicum and increased activity of citrate synthase (GltA) in comparison with endogen activity of Corynebacterium glutamicum, where this Corynebacterium glutamicum has a capability of producing ornithine. A method for producing ornithine using the specified microorganism is also proposed.
