FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to oncology, and can be used to assess the risk of progression of the disease in treating patients with squamous cell laryngeal cancer. Method for assessing the risk of developing a progression of squamous cancer of the larynx involves evaluating the expression of the p53 protein and the proliferative marker Ki67 in the biopsy material, determining degree of tumour differentiation, level of antigen of squamous carcinoma SCC and calculating risk of progression of disease P by formula: P=1/1+e-(B1×X1+B2×X2+B3×X3+B4×X4), where B1 is a tumour regression coefficient; B2 is protein p53 regression coefficient; B3 is SCC squamous cell cancer antigen regression coefficient; B4 is regression coefficient of antigen Ki67; X1 is a numerical value corresponding to degree of tumour differentiation; X2 is a value equal to 0 in the absence of p53 protein expression and equal to 1 if available; X3 is a value equal to 0 with normal level of SCC in blood and equal to 1 at its increase; X4 is Ki67 antigen (%) expression; if P is less than or equal to 0.5, the risk of progression of the disease is considered to be low; if P is more than 0.5 - high.
EFFECT: invention enables assessing the risk of developing progression of squamous cancer of the larynx.
