FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used to predict the development of progression in the long-term period in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. To do this, determine the degree of involvement in the process of metastasis of regional lymph nodes (X1). In the absence of metastases in the lymph nodes, X1 is estimated at 0 points, and in the presence of metastases in the regional lymph nodes, X1 is estimated at 1 point. Also, the content of actin-binding protein fascin-1 (FSCN1) ng/ml and the content of the enzyme of the signaling system of protein phosphatase 1B (PPM1B) ng/ml are determined by the method of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in blood serum. Then the probability of developing progression in the long-term period P is calculated according to the developed formulas. At P≥50%, a high risk is predicted, and at P<50%, a low risk of disease progression is predicted.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to form a risk group of patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck after complex antitumor treatment for the optimal period of monitoring the progression of the tumor process.
