FIELD: radio engineering and communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method implemented by a radio network node for configuring a user equipment (UE) based in a cell served by a wireless communication network node, for measurements for cell reselection based on synchronization units (SS-blocks) for state RRC_IDLE and state RRC_INACTIVE. Method comprises a step of providing UE with information including a SMTC window configuration, comprising configuration parameters for a measurement window, wherein the configuration parameters comprise a window recurrence period parameter, a window shift parameter and a window duration parameter, to configure terminal UE for measurements for cell reselection based on SS-blocks for state RRC_IDLE and state RRC_INACTIVE. At that, radio communication network node uses radio resource control (RRC) signaling for information transfer to UE terminal before or in combination with switching of UE terminal from the RRC_CONNECTED state to the RRC_INACTIVE state or the RRC_IDLE state, wherein the radio network node uses the RRCConnectionRelease message to transmit information to the UE.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of time consumption for measurement of signals of the descending line.
