FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to burning of lump material in shaft furnace and device for inlet of gaseous fuel and air in form of central gas burner used in method implementation. When burning lump material in shaft furnace in the paraxial area of the burning zone, two concentric combustion edges are formed by enclosing the axial air flow from the central gas burner by the ring-shaped flow of gaseous fuel, which is also enclosed by ring-shaped air flow, part of which is fed into the paraxial area of the furnace below the gaseous fuel outlet from the central gas burner at least in one separate channel, bypassing the material cooling zone in the furnace. Said separate channel is made so that to ensure concentric flow of air uniformly enveloping gas chamber housing with possibility of independent adjustment of its flow rate.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of furnace, reduction of specific fuel consumption, improvement of quality of burning product and increase of service life of lining and burner.
