FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology of solid fuel, specifically to a carbon-containing product which is an analogue of coal-tar coke and coke products and can be used in metallurgical industry, as well as to a method for producing such a product. Method of obtaining carbon-containing product for coking, obtained during process of layer coking in coke batteries with gravitational loading, includes use as raw material of charge consisting of 60–100 % of coals of one or several grades conditionally suitable for coking and 0–40 % of coking coal, coking process for 14–18 hours at temperature in reference verticals 1200–1400 °C. Carbon-containing product has fraction of not less than 25 mm, characterized by output of volatile substances of not more than 1.0 % and strength after reaction with carbon dioxide of not less than 25 %.
EFFECT: invention provides for removal of restrictions on selection of type of coals used in charge, qualitative characteristics of carbon-containing product and reduction of prime cost of cast iron and finished metal.
