Abstract RU 2733928 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to chemical enzymology and medicines for topical application and aims at treating inflammatory processes accompanying oxidative stress in the eye. Composition which reduces oxidative stress in the eye consists of a phosphate buffer solution and an active substance based on particles of the antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase. As an active substance, it contains particles obtained by mixing buffer solutions of superoxide dismutase in concentration of 2.5–10.0 mg/ml and polycation in concentration of 2.5–10.0 mg/ml, stirring and holding mixture, adding a polyanion buffer solution in concentration of 2.5–10.0 mg/ml, stirring and holding the obtained mixture, followed by adding to the mixture an aqueous solution of glutaric aldehyde, taken in an amount which provides a molar ratio with the amine groups of polycation of 0.3–1.5, holding mixture, adding aqueous solution of sodium borohydride in concentration 1–2 mg/ml and cleaning mixture using membrane filtration system with transmission limit of 90–130 kilodalton at final pH of composition 6.8–7.6. Polycation is selected from a group comprising protamine, polylysine and polyarginine. Polyanion is a block copolymer of polyglutamic acid and polyethylene glycol or a block copolymer of polyaspartic acid and polyethylene glycol. Components are used in claimed amounts.

EFFECT: use of the invention enables to increase the total yield of superoxide dismutase (SOD) on particle activity from 8 to 47–55 %, as well as to increase stability of values of SOD activity in particles and increase stability of particle size during storage thereof.
