Method of operating an autonomous vehicle for use in moving along a traffic network of vehicles comprises a step of moving the vehicle by means of an autonomous vehicle over a traffic network. Movement along the traffic network of vehicles includes stages, at which operation of the operational control evaluation module instance is performed for a specific scenario, wherein instant control evaluation module for specific scenario is a copy of on-line control assessment module for specific scenario, wherein operational control evaluation module for specific scenario implements partially observed Markov decision-making process, possible action is taken to control the vehicle from a copy of the operational control assessment module for a specific scenario, and vehicles are moved along the traffic network section based on the possible action to control the vehicle.

EFFECT: improved safety of controlling an autonomous vehicle.
