FIELD: autonomous fire extinguishing means.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to autonomous fire extinguishing means, namely to polymer composite materials containing fire extinguishing substance in the form of microcapsules and intended for creation of autonomous fire extinguishing devices that do not require automation and human participation. Object of the invention is to detect a new, not previously known, use of nitrocellulose (NC) with nitrogen content of 10.7 % to 12.2 % as thermoactivating polymer matrix of the fire extinguishing agent, providing rapid exposure of microcapsules with FEA, its transportation by gaseous combustion products of polymer matrix into fire zone. Thermoactivating matrix of the microencapsulated extinguishing agent used is nitrocellulose which is capable of igniting short-term contact with the flame without auxiliary oxidising agents. Note here that fire propagation speed on material surface is an order of magnitude higher than its burning inside material. Heat emitted by combustion NC triggers a process of virtually simultaneous destruction of microcapsules with FEA. Salvo simultaneous discharge of the whole fire-extinguishing substance and rapid distribution of the protected volume provides effective suppression of the fire source at an earlier stage.
EFFECT: technical result consists in highly effective fire extinguishing in protected volumes at earlier stages of ignition.
