FIELD: heat exchange.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heating of gases in a stream, in particular for production of superheated steam, by means of microwave radiation, and can be used, for example, for technologies using high-temperature gas, especially overheated steam. Heat exchange element is made in the form of body from porous material, capable of passing heated gas and absorb microwave radiation with release of heat, wherein in the body central part a recess is made longitudinally relative to the gas flow. Recess forms an area which does not absorb microwave radiation, as a result, prevents overheating of the central part of the body of the heat exchange element, and with it elimination of specific for such heating systems disadvantages, such as melting and destruction of heat exchange element, necessity to use expensive extra heat-resistant materials with low coefficient of temperature expansion, limited efficiency of the system.
EFFECT: heat exchange element is intended for use in device for microwave gas heating, which includes heat exchange part made in form of pipeline, having inlet for heated gas supply and an outlet hole for the heated gas outlet, between which a heat exchange element which overlaps the passage of the pipeline is located, and a microwave generating part configured to supply microwave radiation to the heat exchange element.
