FIELD: thin embossing of planar material with metal coating.
SUBSTANCE: method of embossing a first grid in planar material by means of embossing and support components, each of which has a solid surface, and the first grid has alternating, in fact, parallel and rectilinear protrusions and recesses, wherein the vertices of the projections are intended to attenuate direct directed reflection of light by creating diffuse, omnidirectional reflection with thereby obtaining a visible contrast between projections and recesses. Method includes forming on embossing component of first plurality of truncated pyramids, intended for embossment of first grid recesses by applying pressure on first side of planar material with formation of first intermittent lines corresponding to required cavities. Bases of the pyramids of each subset corresponding to one of the first intermittent lines are separated from each other by a certain distance forming a gap in the line. Each break in the pyramid line can be connected to the corresponding gap in the adjacent pyramid line by an imaginary line perpendicular to both adjacent lines. Method also includes roughening sections of solid surface of embossing component, which are located between adjacent lines of pyramids and intersect at least one of imaginary lines connecting gap in one line with corresponding break in adjacent line. Further, method includes formation of second plurality of truncated pyramids, intended for embossing protrusions of first grid by applying pressure on second side of planar material, opposite to first side. In the process of embossing, these truncated apexes of the pyramid press the planar material to rough sections of the solid surface of the embossing component, thus providing satining of tops of projections on first side.
EFFECT: invention provides improved copy protection for at least two latent variable pictures.
