FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to systems and methods of ultrasonic medical diagnosis, which use pulsed ultrasonic probing to determine ultrasound attenuation coefficient. Method and apparatus for determining the average ultrasonic attenuation coefficient are based on using additional information obtained from analysis of the dependence of the amplitude of the ultrasonic response on the probing depth. Method is realized by calculating an average ultrasonic attenuation coefficient based on data on quadratic non-linearity of logarithmic response amplitude versus depth. Displaying the results of determining the average ultrasonic attenuation coefficient is carried out in the form of spatial distribution of the attenuation coefficient, values of average attenuation factor with reflection of logarithmic amplitudes dependence from depth, as well as in the form of obtained linear dependence of logarithmic amplitudes on depth.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy and reliability of determination of average coefficient of ultrasound attenuation in soft tissues.
