FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and can be used for selection of retinal laser coagulation parameters. Probing radiation is used with wavelength equal to coagulation radiation wavelength. Method includes delivering to target point, reading amplitude of acoustic wave, calculating laser radiation absorption coefficient by formula aabs=k*A, where aabs is the absorption coefficient in the target point, A is the amplitude of the optoacoustic signal, k is the calibration coefficient. Laser radiation power for each target point is selected using formula ,
where N is laser radiation power for each target point, Tf – temperature, on which layer of pigment epithelium is to be heated, C=0.75 mW/°C is a value which characterizes temperature response of eye fundus tissues to emission of specified power, aabs is the absorption coefficient in the target point, calculated using the probing pulse, k=28 mcm, r=3.5 s-1, Q=0.465, t is an exposition of coagulating radiation equal to 0.2 s, if it is required to heat only layer of pigment epithelium, equal to 0.5 s, if it is required to heat all layers of retina.
EFFECT: method provides reducing a risk of retinal injury accompanying laser coagulation by selecting optimal laser coagulation parameters.
