FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to production of thin sheets of hafnium with isotropic mechanical properties in two mutually perpendicular directions used in designing superpower permanent magnets, when making multilayer high-quality mirror materials, for producing microcircuits and electronic devices. Method of making thin sheets of hafnium with isotropic mechanical properties involving hot forging of ingot in plate, machining surface, hot rolling of plate into intermediate size sheet, which is cut along length into sheets and cold rolling sheets in several stages, with intermediate and finishing non-oxidation annealing at temperature of 700 to 950°C to obtain thin sheets of finished size. After each intermediate annealing rolled sheets are turned through 90°.
EFFECT: obtaining thin sheets of hafnium with isotropic mechanical properties in two mutually perpendicular directions.
