FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: as per the first embodiment, cutter holder has thrust damper. In compliance with second embodiment, cutter holder has limit stop and stop damper. According to the third embodiment, the cutter holder has a thrust damper. Dampers are made with possibility of their working surfaces force interaction with cylindrical channel surface during cutting. Distance from working surface of limit stop to top of cutting plate corresponds to required depth of groove or pocket relative to surface of cylindrical channel. Stop-damper is elastically pressed to processed surface throughout the process of metal removal. Embodiments of the method include installation and alignment of the part in the machine relative to the surface of the channel with minimum possible beating relative to the axis of rotation, removal of metal during cutting during rotation of the part, radial and axial movements of the cutting plate relative to the processed surface of the channel. At the same time, the distance from the working surface of the support stop-limiter of the holder to the top of the cutting plate is matched with the required depth of the groove or pocket. When turning the working surface of limit stop is resting on cylindrical channel surface and coordinates of radial displacement of cutting plate top are defined, which exceed groove or pocket depth by, at least, by beating of channel surface relative to rotation axis.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of making grooves and pockets in deep holes.
