FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics, and can be used for elongation of an Achilles tendon. Performing two equal-length and perpendicular to each other oblique incisions in cranial and caudal directions from one point of end of tendon to its middle. Point is chosen on the opposite end of the tendon, from which two similar oblique cross sections are made. Cranially directed incision is oriented towards the middle of the cranial incision and is parallel to a caudad-directed incision made earlier on the opposite side of the tendon. Incisions are made to the opposite sides of the tendon from the ends of each incision at a right angle and by 1/3 of the length of previous incisions. Tendon is extended by opening the incisions and forming diastases.
EFFECT: method enables reducing operative injures, preserving strength of the tendon, reducing the risk of cicatrical splices and improving the functional result of the treatment ensured by a combination of methods of the declared method.
