SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used for early diagnosis of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis of long tubular bones in children. Multispiral computed tomography of the respective segment of the involved extremity together with a similar segment of the healthy extremity in the caudal direction is performed with the adjoining joint grasping at the thickness of the reconstructed layer of 0.5 mm. Color mapping is performed with simultaneous comparison of sagittal, frontal and axial planes in multiplanar reconstruction mode. Asymmetry of the laying is eliminated by applying a virtual inclination of the affected extremity and comparing the examination areas. Following color gamut of the medullary canal is determined in tubular bones of the intact limb: black color - diaphyseal zone; yellow color is transition metaphyseal zone. If observing a bone-marrow canal of red-and-yellow color in a segment of a tubular bone, acute haematogenous osteomyelitis of long tubular bones is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides simple and accurate diagnosis of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis of long tubular bones in children due to virtual inclination of the affected extremity to eliminate asymmetry of stacking and comparison of study areas.
