FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of synthesis of a polymer magnetic separable sorbent based on a highly functional cross-linked polystyrene having high saturation magnetization and stability under hydrothermal conditions. Method comprises: dissolving iron (III) chloride in ethanol; mixing the obtained solution with super-cross-linked polystyrene powder, holding for at least 60 minutes; adding sodium acetate, holding for at least 60 minutes; drying mixture until complete removal of ethanol; wetting with ethylene glycol till paste-like consistence, holding at 300°C for 5 hours in weak argon current; cooling and washing with water, ethanol and drying. Weight ratio of reagents is: iron (III) chloride - 45-180; super-cross-linked polystyrene - 100; sodium acetate - 68-272.
EFFECT: obtaining a sorbent based on super-cross-linked polystyrene, having magnetic properties (high saturation magnetization) and capable of retaining magnetic properties in hydrothermal conditions.
