SUBSTANCE: invention relates to disposable diaper (2) with main part (4), containing front area (12), rear area (16) with rear lateral longitudinal edges (18) and rear longitudinal sections (22) attached to rear sides (16), while no side portion (22) is attached to front region (14), instead, the front side longitudinal edges (14) of main portion (4) form a longitudinal end of the diaper with a free end, wherein rear side portions (22) can surround in each case the user's body along the circumferential direction for applying and clasping disposable diaper (2), used on incontinence, on user and can be brought into closed position with outer side of front area (12), to which they in each case can then be attached by means of corresponding fastening means (28) with possibility of disconnection, wherein rear side sections (22) in straightened but not stretched state have length Q in transverse direction (10), wherein rear side sections (22) are elastically extensible within this length Q in transverse direction (10) and for this purpose have elastic or elasticized region (42), passing in transverse direction (10) and in longitudinal direction (8), wherein said length Q in transverse direction (10) has proximal portion (38), which adjoins the rear lateral longitudinal edge (18), and the far end portion (40), and wherein near section (38), starting from rear lateral longitudinal edge (18), passes in transverse direction (10) along length, which is 65 % of the length Q of the rear side portion (22), characterized in that the corresponding elastic or elasticized region (42) of the rear side portions (22) is completely located within proximal portion (38) and reaches rear lateral longitudinal edge (18) located therein or has a gap of not more than 30 mm from rear lateral longitudinal edge (18) in transverse direction (10), and corresponding rear side sections (22) over the entire distal portion (40) are substantially non-extensible.
