FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental medicine, namely to oncology and immunology, and can be used for investigating anticancer effectiveness of photodynamic therapy (PDT), method includes estimation by absolute tumor growth rate (K) in individuals with continued growth of neoplasia; by complete regression of tumor (CTR, %) – absence of visible and palpated tumor; by life expectancy (LE) and increase of life span (ILS, %) compared to control and by cure criterion for 90 days after PDT, is characterized by that the study of peripheral blood leukogram and the dynamics of changes in integral medical parameters (IMP) are assessed in the following order: tumor volume is calculated by formula with subsequent calculation of absolute tumor growth coefficient (K) by formula; percentage of animals in the group with complete regression (CTR%) of the tumor K = -1.00; studying percentage ratio and morphological characteristics of peripheral blood cells of mice by microscopic examination and differential counting of peripheral blood leukogram; the study of peripheral blood leukogram and the dynamics of changes in integral medical parameters (IMP) are assessed: shift index BLSI, LI, NLRI, NMRI, LMRI in comparison with physiological norm, which for peripheral blood leukogram is (in %): Basophils 3.0±0.6; Eosinophils 0.3±0.3; Myelocytes 0; Juvenile 0; Stab 1.3±0.3; Segmented 14.3±1.8; and for IMP is: LI 4.20±0.60; LMRI 16.65±1.60; BLSI 0.24±0.04; NLRI 0.25±0.04; NMRI 4.48±0.82. That is followed by statistical evaluation of the results: comparing the life expectancy of the animals in the group (LE) and the increase of life span (ILS%) compared to the control, the significant percentage ILS of the test animals compared to the control being ≥50 %; performing statistical evaluation of results by non-parametric methods using Statistica 6.0 programs, using the Mann–Whitney U-test and Wilcoxon matched pairs test, and if the differences between the statistically significant values p<0.05 compared to the physiological norm, the data indicate the effectiveness of the therapy.

EFFECT: method enables higher clinical effectiveness evaluation already at its early stages due to additional detection of immunological component of photodynamic effect for various histological forms of tumor in the absence of a large amount of equipment and reagents.
