METHOD FOR DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF BACTERIAL AND VIRAL INFECTIOUS-INFLAMMATORY DISEASES Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G01N33/68 G01N33/577

Abstract RU 2825251 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to laboratory diagnostics, and can be used for differential diagnosis of bacterial and viral infectious-inflammatory diseases (IID). Peripheral blood sample is analysed and the number of subpopulations of neutrophil granulocytes (NG), which carry receptors CD64, CD16, CD32, CD11b. Sequential gating with a Cytomics FC-500 flow cytometer is used to isolate NG subpopulations based on the presence or absence of equipment with these receptors – CD64-CD16+CD32+CD11b+NG (K1) and CD64+CD16+CD32+CD11b+NG (K2). A calculated neutrophilic granulocyte index (CNGI) is calculated as the K1/K2 ratio. If the CNGI value is 0.1–18.9, the bacterial IIDs are determined. If the CNGI value is not less than 19, viral IIDs are determined.

EFFECT: method provides higher reliability of differential diagnosis of bacterial and viral IIDs by determining the ratio of two diagnostically significant subpopulations of NG.
