SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol generating device comprising a segmented visual feedback device. Disclosed is an aerosol generating device (10) comprising an electrical power supply (40); cavity (14) for accommodating at least a portion of aerosol-generating article (50; 60); and at least one electric heater (22) located inside cavity (14). Aerosol generating device (10) further comprises controller (42), configured to control supply of power from electric power supply (40) to at least one electric heater (22) for activating said at least one electric heater (22). Controller (42) is configured to activate at least one electric heater (22) for a total period of time when placing at least a portion of aerosol-generating article (50; 60) inside cavity (14). Aerosol generating device (10) also comprises segmented visual feedback device (32), wherein each of multiple segments (34) of segmented device (32) of visual feedback corresponds to interval of total time period. Each of plurality of segments (34) is configured to provide visual feedback when placing at least a portion of aerosol-generating article (50; 60) inside cavity (14) and expiring the corresponding interval of the total period of time.

EFFECT: technical result is providing improved feedback with user during operation of aerosol generating device.
