SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. Method includes execution of a target base station of a path extension using a logical direct connection interface between a target base station and a first base station in order to form a target path for transmitting service data between a terminal and a backbone network, that is performed after the handover terminal has performed from the initial base station to the target base station, wherein the anchor point of the target path is a base anchor station, which directly communicates with the backbone network in the target path; and transmission by target base station along target path to reference network of service data received from terminal, or transmission along target path to terminal of service data received from support network.

EFFECT: technical result consists in preventing excessive consumption of resources when transmitting signals between a base station and a backbone network during path switching.
