FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of identifying a unit which causes leakage of uncleaned water in a condenser of a thermal power plant. Capacitor consists of n units, where n is integer from 2 to 15, preferably, from 3 to 8, characterized by that each of n units is equipped with a cartridge designed to contain ion-exchange resin in volume from 50 to 150 ml, preferably from 80 to 120 ml. Method comprises the following steps: a) cleaning an ion-exchange resin to be placed in a cartridge for each of the n blocks; b) placing into cartridge of purified ion-exchange resin obtained at step a) for each of n blocks; c) passing the condensate in volume from 500 to 1500 l, preferably from 800 to 1200 l, into cartridge containing cleaned ion-exchange resin placed at stage b), for each of n units; d) collecting ion-exchange resin obtained at step c) for each of the n blocks; e) regenerating the ion-exchange resin collected at step d) by elution with an aqueous regenerating solution for each of the n blocks; f) collecting the eluate obtained at step e), followed by determining the nature of the types of ions present in said eluate and the amount of each type of ions present in said eluate for each of the n blocks, and g) comparing the amounts of said types of ions defined in each of the n eluates for each type of ions identified at step f).
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of reliable and direct identification of unit of condenser from stainless steel, which is source of insignificant infiltration of raw water into steam generator of thermal power plant, without the need for series isolation of units of the plant condenser.
