METHOD FOR POSTOPERATIVE MANAGEMENT OF PATIENTS WITH TRACHEOSTOMA AND HYDROGEL NAPKIN FOR IMPLEMENTATION THEREOF Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B17/00 A61K8/9711 A61P43/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used in postoperative management of tracheostomy patients. Hydrogel napkin is made from air-permeable fabric with size of 100 × 100 mm, on surface of which there is applied a layer of hydrogel - sodium alginate - 5 mm thick and area of 80 × 80 mm, which contains medicinal substances - dioxidin 1 % and derinat 0.25 %. Napkin has an incision on one side and a round hole in the centre with diameter of 20 mm for a tracheostomy tube; a hypoallergenic adhesive base 20 mm wide is applied along the napkin edges to fix the napkin to the skin. Method according to the invention involves applying a hydrogel napkin intraoperatively after insertion of a tracheostomy tube by feeding the napkin with an incision upwards under the tracheostomy tube and fixing it around the tube with the help of an adhesive base. Starting from 2 postoperative days, the napkin is moistened 1–2 times a day with physiologic saline applied to the napkin surface with the help of a syringe. Napkin is removed in 6 days, and if necessary, a new napkin is applied for another 5 days, wherein the patient can moisturise and change the napkin independently at home.

EFFECT: use of the inventions allows fast healing of the postoperative wound, reducing the number of postoperative complications, reducing the length of the patient's stay in the hospital and receiving the patients in out-patient conditions.
