FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to clinical laboratory diagnostics, immunology and microbiology, and represents a method for extracting pure fraction of human neutrophilic granulocytes from blood. For this purpose, leukocyte suspension diluted with Hanks solution is layered on double density gradient of iohexol solutions. Density gradient of the upper layer is 1080 kg/m3, and lower - 1090 kg/m3. After centrifugation at 700g, a ring containing neutrophils with purity of 99–100 % appears on the boundary between these gradients.

EFFECT: method provides reduced contamination of the released neutrophil suspension with other cell types while maintaining a sufficient portion of viable neutrophils and preventing their activation.
