FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industries.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry and can be used for electrochemical protection of metal reservoirs with aggressive medium. Method comprises passing direct current between reservoir and group of anodes with provision of protective potential on structure due to gradual dissolution of anodes, at that, electrochemical activation of anode group is periodically carried out by supplying current with another potential to anodes, at that, anodes from above are coated with metal, which is in the row of metal stresses to the left of the reservoir metal, protective potential is supplied to anodes periodically with measurement of current strength with periods of protective potential switching, selected for maximum protection of reservoir against corrosion, at that supply to anodes of current with other potential is periodically performed at current strength exceeding threshold current.

EFFECT: technical result is saving of 7–11 % of electric power, increase in 2–2,5 times overhaul period of service for replacement and/or cleaning of anodes.
