METHOD OF DETERMINING FAULT POINT ON POWER TRANSMISSION LINE Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G01R31/08

Abstract RU 2739433 C1

FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and electric power engineering and can be used for determination of damage point in three-phase power transmission line (PTL) of high and ultrahigh voltage. Phase voltages are measured at each end of the line, emergency signals are selected and a kurtosis coefficient of the selected alarm signal is calculated inside the sliding time window. Calculated kurtosis coefficient is compared with the threshold value. Satellite navigation system is used to record the single time value at the moment of exceeding the threshold, transmitting the fixed time value to the remote end of the PTL and distance to point of damage is calculated from difference of single time values fixed at line ends. Alarm signals are selected from differences of measured phase voltages. Transmission and calculations are blocked in the absence of a relay operation triggering signal of the corresponding PTL for disconnection.

EFFECT: higher reliability and accuracy of determining point of damage on PTL, simplified implementation of the method.
