METHOD OF DETERMINING DISTANCE TO PLACE OF FAILURE ON POWER TRANSMISSION LINE Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01R31/08

Abstract RU 2632583 C2

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine the place of failure in a three-phase high-voltage and ultra-high voltage power transmission line (PTL). At each end of the line the currents and voltages are measured, the alarm is extracted from the measured currents and voltages, the calculations are made inside the sliding time window, record the moment of threshold crossing with the help of the satellite navigation system, and the distance to the place of failure is calculated from the difference of moments of threshold crossing recorded at the ends of the line. Within the sliding time window the energy of the alarm signal is calculated by summing the squares of the instantaneous values of the signal, then the calculated energy of the alarm signal is compared with the value of the threshold.

EFFECT: simplification of the method of determining the place of failure on the power transmission line due to simpler operations of exact detection of the wave front of the transient process from a set of interference following the normal distribution law.
