ELECTROCONDUCTIVE HYDROPHILIC COPOLYMERS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC C08F271/00 C08F273/00 C08F281/00 C08F2/16 H01G4/00 H01M10/06

Abstract RU 2739453 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of forming a homogeneous, isotropic, cross-linked electron-active hydrophilic copolymer, to a copolymer produced by said method, to an electrochemical cell and a supercapacitor, containing said copolymer. Method of forming a cross-linked electron-active hydrophilic copolymer involves first mixing the electronically active material with water to form an intermediate mixture. Further, at least one hydrophilic monomer, at least one hydrophobic monomer and at least one cross-linking agent is added to the intermediate mixture to form a mixture of comonomers. Then, obtained mixture of monomers is polymerised. Amount of water in the mixture of comonomers ranges from 5 to 50 wt % of the total weight of the mixture of comonomers. Electronically active material used is polyethylene dioxythiophene: polystyrene sulphonate, polypyrrole, polyaniline, polyacetylene or combinations thereof. Hydrophilic monomer used is methacrylic acid, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, ethyl acrylate, vinylpyrrolidone, methyl ester of acrylic acid, monomethacryloyloxyethyl phthalate, ammonium sulphate ethyl methacrylate, polyvinyl alcohol or their combinations. Hydrophobic monomer used is methyl methacrylate, allyl methacrylate, acrylonitrile, methacryloxypropyltris(trimethylsiloxy)silane, 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl methacrylate or combinations thereof. Electrochemical cell contains said copolymer and water or aqueous electrolyte. Supercapacitor comprises two electrodes and said copolymer arranged there between.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a copolymer having high electrical conductivity and good water properties, leading to improved characteristics in aqueous media of electronic systems.
