FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: it is proposed to determine fuel consumption during unbraked tests of the engine and on the basis of tachometric turbine flowmeter use. At that after start-up and warm-up of the engine, maximum rotational speed of its shaft is set. The fuel supply is switched off and when the minimum rotational speed is reached, the fuel feed lever is abruptly changed to the maximum feed position, and the maximum rotational speed of the flowmeter impeller is registered. After that the hourly fuel flow rate is determined as the product of number 3600 (number of seconds per hour) per proportional coefficient and to the maximum rotational speed of the flowmeter impeller.
EFFECT: reduction of labour consumption for determination of hourly flow rate for internal combustion engines.
