FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for managing a functional state of the brain, and can be used for laser biomodulation and high blood-brain barrier permeability. Laser radiation is applied to selected area of head. Laser radiation power density is determined by Monte Carlo method according to skull size, scalp thickness to be subject to soft tissues, skull bones, dura mater, cerebro-spinal fluid (CSF), gray and white matter of the brain of the conditions for ensuring the power density in the region of the brain pathology in range of 5–20 mW/cm2. Wavelength of the radiation is selected within limits lying in the visible and infrared wavelength ranges on molecular oxygen absorption lines.
EFFECT: method provides higher blood-brain barrier permeability by determining optimal exposure doses.
