FIELD: hydro acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydro acoustics, namely to methods and apparatus for detecting marine targets by their noise emission, and more specifically to methods of determining coordinates of targets using correlation maxima in autocorrelation function of target noise. Said technical result is achieved by measuring ordinates (intensities) of correlation maxima (CM) in autocorrelation functions (ACF), measured in tier with maximum ratio of signal / noise to static multilayered fan of direction characteristics, formed in vertical plane (VFDC), merging abscissas and ordinates CM into a two-dimensional array CM of the received signal, calculating for each point of the region of possible target location and for each pair of beams of the calculated beam structure of intensity of each design CM in each tier VFDC, generating for each point of the area of the two-dimensional array of calculated CM, which contains CM abscies and CM intensities, calculated in the VFDC tier, corresponding to the optimum tier of the received signal, computing for each point of the correlation coefficient region between the formed CM array and the received signal array CM and determination of target coordinates by selection of coordinates of that point of possible target location, for which maximum value of correlation coefficient is obtained.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining coordinates of a noisy target.
