METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF EVOLUTION OF CEREBRAL GLIOMAS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC C12Q1/68

Abstract RU 2740194 C1

FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. Method is developed for prediction of evolution of cerebral gliomas based on analysis of expression levels of individual microRNA genes in blood plasma and in saliva of patients in comparison with clinical picture of clinical course, neuroimaging (MRI, PET-CT) and clinical studies. It is shown that the most informative evaluation of such key tumor characteristics, as its activity (volume), proliferative capacity and invasiveness, are microRNA-15, -16, -21, -34, -126, -128, -210 and -342. Comparative study of gene expression levels of selected microRNAs in blood plasma and in saliva of practically healthy volunteers and patients with GCT, their reference values specific for healthy people, criteria are developed for making an informed prognostic conclusion regarding progression or stabilization of GCT (progression, stabilization, stable stabilization) by comparing the expression levels of the genes of the above micro-RNAs with reference values.

EFFECT: determining blood and saliva microRNA expression levels can be an important criterion for assessing the evolution and prediction of the clinical course of cerebral glioma underlying a personalized approach to tumor therapy.
