METHOD FOR DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF GLIOMAS OF HUMAN BRAIN Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC C12Q1/68

Abstract RU 2583871 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to molecular biology and medicine, particularly to oncology. Brain tumour tissue total RNA pool is extracted (including containing and micro-RNA) by any of known methods. Then 10 micro-RNA expression levels are measured, namely microRNA-21, -221, -31, -124, -125b, -16, -451, -191, -181b, -223 (diagnosed microRNA) in tumour samples by RT-PCR method in real time. Presence and type of glial tumour are based on complex criterion (K), calculated values of micro-RNA expression levels in different types of glial tumours characterised by specific profile expression. If K is equal to or greater than 1, conclusion is made on presence of glioblastoma, if K, lying in range from 0 to -3, conclusion is made on presence of diffuse astrocytomas, while K value equal to or below -4, conclusion is made on presence of anaplastic astrocytomas.

EFFECT: present method simplifies differential diagnosis of glial tumours and increases its accuracy.
