DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR PERIPHERAL DISORDERS OF VESTIBULAR AND AUDITORY FUNCTIONS CAUSED BY DISTURBED VENOUS OUTFLOW FROM INTERNAL JUGULAR VEIN Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B8/06

Abstract RU 2740364 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to neurology, and can be used for diagnosing peripheral disorders of vestibular and auditory functions caused by disturbed venous outflow from the jugular vein. That is ensured by ultrasonic examination of internal jugular veins (IJV) on the right and on the left. A horizontal cross-section and a vertical position of a patient are determined with a cross-sectional area of the veins, a linear velocity of the blood flow, a phasic blood flow and consistency of venous valves. If there is asymmetry of IJV by cross-sectional area and linear blood flow velocity, reduced linear blood flow velocity IJV less than 70 cm/s in horizontal and vertical positions, monophasic blood flow in horizontal position and valve insufficiency in the form of venous reflux is diagnosed with peripheral disturbance of vestibular and auditory functions.

EFFECT: invention enables diagnosing peripheral disorders of vestibular and auditory functions caused by disturbed venous outflow from an internal jugular vein in patients.
