DEVICE FOR DIRECTIONAL DRILLING WITH AUTOMATIC ADJUSTMENT AND A METHOD FOR DIRECTIONAL DRILLING Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC E21B7/04

Abstract RU 2740390 C2

FIELD: directional drilling.

SUBSTANCE: device for drilling curvilinear and straight sections of well shaft comprises drilling assembly made with provision of drilling bit at its end with possibility of rotation by means of drive in drilling assembly, and made for connection with drilling pipe, having the possibility of rotation from surface. Drilling assembly comprises a shaft connected to a drive and a drill bit, a housing including top and bottom sections, and section of bearings located in lower section and connecting with possibility of rotation shaft with lower section. Housing is characterized by the presence of a rotary member between the upper and lower sections, connecting the upper and lower sections with the possibility of inclining the lower section relative to the upper section, when drill pipe is fixed in terms of rotation, providing drilling of curvilinear section of well shaft by rotation of drilling bit by means of drive. Said shaft is arranged inside upper, lower sections and section of bearings. Drive is made with possibility of shaft rotation, while upper section, lower section, section of bearings and rotary element are fixed in terms of rotation, when the drilling assembly is fixed in terms of rotation, and the rotation of the drill pipe causes a decrease in the inclination between the upper and lower sections, thereby drilling the straight section of the wellbore.

EFFECT: providing automatic adjustment of inclination during drilling of curvilinear sections and straightening during rotation of drilling assembly for drilling of straight sections of well shaft and reduced stresses on components of drilling assembly.
