FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a data processing method and a terminal device. Method includes the following: a terminal device determines a ratio of values between a data volume for transmitting data of a first divided radio bearer of a terminal device and a predetermined threshold value of a first split carrier radio link, wherein the amount of data to be transmitted comprises the sum of the packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer data size of the first split carrier radio bearer and the amount of data pre-processed by the first RLC layer in the first divided radio bearer, wherein the first RLC layer is configured by the network side for transmitting data; and terminal device determines according to this ratio of values target group of cells from plurality of groups of cells corresponding to first divided carrier radio channel, wherein the target group of cells is used to process data intended for transmission.
EFFECT: technical result is improved flexibility of data transmission due to easier load balancing between groups of cells.
