FIELD: protection against biological fouling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of submersible structures from biological fouling. Disclosed is light-emitting structure (100) for countering surface (30) fouling, which comprises optical medium (10) and at least one light source (20) for emitting anti-fouling light. First zone (1) of structure (100), which is closest to light source (20), is arranged and is configured to mainly cause mirror reflection of anti-fouling light towards emitting surface (12) of optical medium (10) through optical medium (10), second zone (2) of structure (100) is arranged and configured to mainly implement distribution of antifouling light through optical medium (10) by means of total internal reflection, and third zone (3) of structure (100), which is most distant in direction from light source (20), is arranged and is configured to mainly cause scattering of antifouling light from optical medium (10) through emitting surface (12) of optical medium (10).
EFFECT: invention discloses a practical and simple method of providing a different distribution of antifouling light from a light-emitting structure in order to counteract the fouling of the protected surface.
