FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an anti-fouling lighting system, an object, such as a ship or other (movable) structure for use, in particular in water, comprising such a fouling control system, as well as to a method of controlling fouling of a contaminating surface of an object. Lighting system (1) is configured to prevent or reduce biological fouling of contaminated surface (1201) of object (1200) by feeding light (211) to control fouling by optical medium (220) to said contaminating surface (1201). System comprises illumination module (200) and control system (300). Lighting module comprises light source (210) configured to generate anti-fouling light (211), and optical medium (220) made with possibility of obtaining at least part of anti-fouling light (211) containing emission surface (222). Control system is configured to control intensity of light (211) to control fouling depending on feedback signal related to risk of biological fouling.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption, longer service life of light sources while increasing efficiency of removal and / or prevention of biological fouling of the object.
