FIELD: protection against biological fouling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system for protection against biological fouling. System includes an ultraviolet (UV) radiation source, an ultraviolet emitting element having a UV output window and an optical sensor. UV-emitting element at least partially surrounds the radiation source and the optical sensor. UV radiation outlet window contains the upstream side of the window and the downstream side of the window. Optical sensor is configured to sense radiation emitted by the downstream side of the window and originating from the radiation source and generating an optical sensor signal. System for protection against biological fouling is configured to generate ultraviolet radiation depending on the signal of the optical sensor.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of energy consumption and longer life of the device.
