FIELD: drilling of wells.
SUBSTANCE: drilling rig is used in common methods and drilling systems used in drilling wells for production of oil and other hydrocarbons. Drill rig site comprises: at least one pipe configured to be inserted into the wellbore on the drilling rig; at least one visualization device, configured to detect the location of the end of at least one pipe or feature of at least one pipe; and a processor receiving input data from at least one imaging device and configured to calculate the distance between the end of at least one pipe and the second end of at least one pipe, wherein the processor is configured to determine load on the hook based on the calculated distance.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of drilling operations.
