FIELD: electrical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to relay protection and automation of power transmission lines, and can be used in creation of protection and automation devices requiring high degree of adaptation of characteristics of operation to modes of protected object. Method includes performing iterative operations with power transmission line model and adjusting in distance protection and power line fault location detector by results of iterative operations. Iterative operations with the model are performed in advance by simulating damages at various points of the power transmission line. Simulation results are used to determine currents and voltages at the end(s) of the power transmission line not only in case of damages at different points of the power transmission line, but also at different values of electric energy quality indicators. When adapting the distance protection and the fault location detector, the electric power quality indicators are evaluated based on the corresponding quality control devices. Correction coefficients are formed taking into account the influence of electric power quality indicators on the accuracy of the power line fault location determination by the remote protection or the fault point determiner. Selection of correcting coefficients when implementing the method of adaptation of the distance protection and the power line fault location detector is performed taking into account the estimated power quality parameters.
EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy due to compensation of errors of distance calculation to damage due to power quality violations.
