FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrogen power engineering, in particular to development of chemical systems capable of cyclic accumulation and release of hydrogen in catalytic processes of hydrogenation-dehydrogenation. Disclosed is use of an organo-compound - diphenylferrocene as a liquid organic hydrogen carrier. Also disclosed is a hydrogen cycle involving hydrogen bonding at temperature of 110–160°C and its release at temperature of 320–350 °C in the process of using diphenylferrocene as a liquid organic hydrogen carrier, in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst, where the heterogeneous catalyst contains a carrier - Al2O3 and an active metal supported thereon, selected from Pt, Pd, mixture thereof, or Ni.

EFFECT: use of diphenylferrocene as a liquid organic hydrogen carrier enables to reduce losses of the hydrogen carrier during operation.
