FIELD: hydrogen power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydrogen power engineering, specifically to a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (hereinafter – LOHC) consisting of bi- and tricyclic naphthene hydrocarbons. The carrier is obtained during hydration of oil produced by oxidation and dehydrogenating (hereinafter – POD), which is cyclohexanone condensation products – dianones contained in caprolactam production waste. A method for the production of LOHC is carried out by hydration of POD oil in the presence of a heterogenous catalyst, as a result of which a mixture of bicyclohexil and perhydroterphenyls is obtained, which is used for hydrogen extraction and its subsequent accumulation. A hydrogen cycle of the invention includes hydrogen binding and its release from LOHC in the presence of the heterogenous catalyst.
EFFECT: technology of production of a liquid organic hydrogen carrier, allowing for significant expansion of a raw material base, using a non-deficient side product of caprolactam production – cyclohexanone dimers and trimers; the resulting mixture is capable of releasing hydrogen at 300-350°C.
